According to a study by Prudential, veterans claim that finding a job is one of the greatest challenges when they are in the process of transitioning back to civilian life. It is a constant fear for returning veterans that they will not be able to achieve their ideal job due to the hardship of translating their skills into a civilian work environment.
- Nearly two out of three Veterans have experienced a difficult transitioning process.
- One third of Veterans have not received support or training for their transition into the civilian workforce.
- Veterans propose that an area of major difficulty when trying to find a civilian job is the inability for them to network.
- Three in five Veterans express concern about cultural difficulties and how employers are not understanding of military life.
